Isaac Bernstein

Owner & Lead Guide

  • I am originally from Massachusetts and moved to Vermont for school, where I attended Vermont State University. I studied Outdoor Education and Wilderness Leadership and have since moved on to explore the mountains of the Western United States and beyond. Growing up in a suburban environment didn't lend itself to creating a strong relationship with nature, but for whatever reason I felt the pull to exist in natural spaces. This was the impetus for a life outside! 

    Establishing Sunlight Guiding comes from my desire to provide people with a tailored experience to what their goals and objectives are, while also helping nudge people to do something they think is just beyond their reach. The comfort zone is a place where many of us live for the majority of our lives without ever touching the stretch zone, which is often where we have our most profound and life changing experiences. This ideology is at the core of the experiences of Sunlight. The types of trips we offer are focused largely on experiences rather than summits and helping climbers develop various skills in a broad context so they can go deeper into different avenues of mountain pursuits with more confidence and real world experience.

Quincey Mulligan

Head IC, RM Coordinator

  • Quincey is currently serving in our Incident Commander role and is the acting risk management coordinator. Quincey assists in our out-of-field operations and directs communication for any type of emergency services while programs are in the field. Quincey is also an avid rock climber, skier, and EMT and likes to watch The Pitt with her cat-from-hell, Moki.

Our mission is to provide high quality, safe, and enjoyable experiences in the desert and mountain environments to any and all people. In addition, our guides provide a high level of skill, teaching ability and commitment in all of our programs while maintaining a high level of professionalism and a high bar for risk management.

ABOUT SUNLIGHT GUIDING

Sunlight Guiding was established in 2022 to bring high quality, immersive experiences to people who are seeking an impactful time in the mountains. Through guiding and education we deliver unique opportunities in various mountain and desert venues throughout the United States. Our business holds a tight focus on providing a high end, safe and comfortable experience no matter what our guests want to accomplish–whether the goals are summit driven or educationally focused. We firmly believe that natural spaces, wilderness, and remote mountainous locations hold a distinct and unique opportunity for us to grow and learn in an environment that is different from everyday life, and hold the potential for significant and memorable experiences.
