Basic Ice Climbing

This course focuses on building efficient movement skills for new ice climbers. Instruction covers proper technique, use and fit of essential equipment, and core fundamentals. Depending on experience, basic top-rope anchors and rappelling may also be introduced.

Steep Ice & Mixed Course

This course focuses on climbing steep ice and introduces mixed climbing and drytooling. Instruction targets refining technique and correcting inefficiencies to build confidence on steeper terrain. Anchor and rappelling skills may be included based on time and interest.

Ice Leading Course

This course is designed for experienced ice climbers with 2–3 seasons of consistent climbing and strong movement skills; please contact us before registering. It progresses from refining technique to ice screw placement, anchor building, V-threads, and mock leading, with the potential for supervised lead climbing.

Capstone Ice

This is a student-driven capstone program tailored to individual goals and future climbing objectives. Students choose their focus while practicing ice climbing skills under a trained guide, receiving real-time feedback and optionally taking full lead responsibility. Objectives may include moderate mixed routes, long multi-pitch ice climbs, or alpine-style ice and mixed terrain.

Multi Pitch Ice Course

This course is reserved for experienced ice climbers who have completed an Ice Leading course with successful leads or have multiple confident single-pitch ice leads. A consultation call is required before enrollment. The program transitions single-pitch leaders into multi-pitch ice climbing (2–3 pitches, up to WI3+), covering top-down belaying, anchor construction, V-threads, multi-pitch descents, party-of-three systems, stance management, and anchor assessment.

Problem Solving Course

We recommend this course prior to any rock, ice, or alpine capstone. It focuses on self-rescue systems across disciplines, with transferable skills for rock, ice, and alpine climbing; crevasse rescue is not included. This full-day (10–12 hour) course covers essential knots, hitches, and systems for managing complex situations.
