ROCK COURSES

Toproping & Anchors Course

This course covers the fundamentals of rock climbing, including essential gear, movement, belaying, and basic knots. Anchor building is introduced on day two, along with rappelling and cleaning anchors, with time built in for hands-on practice.

Sport Climbing Course

This course builds on foundational skills, introducing lead belaying and fall management. The focus is mock leading, with the potential for real leads based on performance. Anchor cleaning is emphasized, with additional review of rappelling and opportunities for controlled practice falls.

Trad Climbing Course

An intensive introduction to traditional climbing equipment and gear placement. Instruction covers trad protection, placement fundamentals, and anchor building, progressing from ground practice to placing gear while climbing on top rope with instructor feedback. The course builds toward a leading mindset and mock leading, with potential for supervised live leads.

Capstone Rock Course

This is a student-driven capstone program designed around individual goals and future climbing objectives. Students choose the focus of their experience while practicing rock climbing skills under the supervision of a trained guide, receiving real-time feedback in a leading role. Objectives can include hard single-pitch climbs or longer multi-pitch routes.

Multi - Pitch Rock Course

This program teaches basic to intermediate multi-pitch skills for sport and trad routes, including belaying from above, anchor building, stance management, route finding, and rappel descents. Students may lead moderate pitches (5.3–5.7) with good protection. The goal is to build the ability to climb 2–4 pitch routes independently with straightforward route finding and single-rope rappels.

Problem Solving Course

We recommend this course prior to any rock, ice, or alpine capstone. It focuses on self-rescue systems across disciplines, with transferable skills for rock, ice, and alpine climbing; crevasse rescue is not included. This full-day (10–12 hour) course covers essential knots, hitches, and systems for managing complex situations.
